Our church is involved in hospitality ministry! We are one of the primary host sites for work crews coming to the Oklahoma City and surrounding areas responding to flood and tornado damage, helping with disaster work of all kinds, known as a Presbyterian Disaster Assistance “Village.”
Ways to get involved
Do you want to send a work team? Your first and most critical step is to register your work team, by calling 1-866-732-6121 (PDA). At that number (which is actually Ferncliff Retreat Center in Little Rock, Arkansas) you will talk with one of the wonderful people there, usually Cameron or Eden. They will instruct you in where to register for work, and get you started on the process for housing. If you specifically desire to stay at First Presbyterian Church, be sure to alert Eden or Cameron from the start.
If you are a work team coming, here is our PDA VILLAGE HANDBOOK – Revised Feb 2014.
After the 2013 Moore tornadoes, we reconfigured our space and built more showers to better accommodate work teams. This has worked out wonderfully, and we are now fully equipped to host groups as they travel through town to other work sites, or respond to the recent floods and storm damage here.

Most importantly we need to offer to God our prayers, seeking comfort, understanding, and intercession for those affected by all the recent storms.
